Zero Tolerance for Younger Drivers

If you are under the age of twenty one, you cannot legally consume or even possess alcohol. Consequently, your BAL should always be 0.00%. However, there are limits that you must meet before you are subject to consequences:

  • You will lose your driving privileges for six months (suspension) if you are stopped and have a BAL of .02% or higher.
  • If you are stopped and your BAL is .05% or higher, you will be required to take a substance abuse course.
  • Your parents or legal guardian will be notified of the results of an evaluation performed on you if you are under the age of nineteen.
